Utóbbi heteim történései / My recent weeks

Egész nagy pókhálókat kellett leszednem a blogomról, hogy hozzáférjek, majdnem egy hónapja nem írtam. Foghatnám a hangulatomra, de nem lenne igaz, mondhatnám, hogy merőkanállal falom az életet, tehát nem volt időm írni, azonban ez sem fedné az igazságot. Az igazság pedig odaát van, mint tudjuk.

Kint zuhog az eső, tombol a tél, ez tipikus wellingtoni idő. Nézzük csak, próbálok visszaemlékezni, hogy mikor esett utoljára. Jaaa, tegnap! Erre még talán Szenilla is emlékezne a Némó nyomából. Apropó, múlt szombaton is esett…

Nos, akkor mesélek…

Három-négy hete volt egy bődület vihar, 130km/h órás széllel, vízszintes esővel és a déli szigeten havazással. Kegyetlen pusztítást végzett, földfalak omlottak le és fák törtek ketté, fordultak ki a helyükről. (Hihetetlen, végig volt áram!) Ez a vihar volt az, ami beborította az alkatrész motoromat a hegyoldalba. A mai napig nem értem, miért nem csúszott le a motor a meredek oldalfalon, de szerencsére nem csúszott le. Próbáltuk Petájjal kézzel visszahúzni, két erős magyar sem volt elég a feladathoz. Vettem vontatókötelet és mérnöki pontossággal megtervezett módon, előre definiált szögekkel, továbbá Brünhildával (Petájék autója) visszahúztuk az útra a motort. Szerencsére nem törött el semmi, mert nem volt mi eltörjön, minden törhetőt leszereltem már korábban. A szobám közben átalakult, most már szoba-garázs-raktár funkciókat is ellát. A főmotornak semmi baja nem lett a szélviharban, egy árnyékosabb ház falánál vészelte át az ítéletidőt.

Amikor jó idő volt és ráértem, szereltem,szereltük a főmotort, közben időnként felröhögve, főleg kínomban. Otthon garázs, rengeteg szerszám, satu, cső, csupa kincs, itt pár villás kulcs (szigorúan 14-esig), két csavarhúzó, „gazdaságos” crova készlet 13-as méretig, előre „programozott” erőhatárolóval (azaz simán eltörik), két kalapács és két pici fogó.

Az alkatrésznek vásárolt motoron sem volt tökéletes a fejidomot tartó vasváz (az egyik alkatrész, ami megsérült a főmotor cserbenhagyásos feldöntésekor, cserés), alakítani kellett rajta. De mivel??? A magyar találékony fajta, vastagabb faágakat, illetve az eredeti, de eldeformálódott másik vasvázat használtuk Petájjal. Komolyan mondom, folyt a könnyem a röhögéstől, annyira szánalmas volt. Kábé mikor elgáncsolod a szarvast, lecsavarozod a fejéről az agancsot és az agancsot forgatva, igazgatva próbálsz karosszériát javítani. És basszus, jó lett a váz, no nem tökéletes, kb 85%-os.

A másik küzdelem a bal tükör javítása volt. Volt egy jó műanyag váz, törött üveggel, emellett egy jó tükörlap, törött vázzal. Össze kell párosítani, ez evidens. De hogyan? Ötletbörze gyanánt netezni kezdtem, találtam „hogyan cserélj tükröt motoron” amerikai videokat. Mekkora tehetségek vannak az USA-ban, fickó odamegy a motorhoz, letekeri a régi tükröt, egy csavar, feltekeri a másikat, és kész. És videora veszi és büszkén feltölti! Kretén!!!!!!

Még jó, hogy annak idején lelkes nézője voltam a Discoveryn az Autókereskedők sorozatnak, ott rengeteg tanyatuningot megismerhettem Eddtől. Egy késsel, kettő kis csavarhúzóval, egy húsz centis fonallal és birka türelemmel kioperáltam a tükörüveget, majd pedig bepassziroztam az ép házba. Elment vele vagy másfél órám, de teljes siker. Holott a neten, a fórumban azt írták, hogy ez lehetetlen… Jelentem, nem!

Tükörszerelés magyarosan, hozzávalókkal / How to repair a mirror by a Hungarian

A szerelések után nagy hasznát vettem a kényszerűségből személyesen átvett, „veszélyes küldeménynek” nyilvánított Vanish folteltávolító képességének. Bár nagyon vigyáztam, persze koszos lett a melegítőm a szerelés közben. Nem, nem a piros.

Röviden, a Courier Post futárszolgálat megtagadta 3x1,75 liter Vanish házhoz szállítását, mert a küldő online kereskedés elmulasztott egy kiegészítő, kifejezetten a „veszélyes küldeményeknek” minősített termékekhez szükséges papír kitöltését. Itt nincs kecmec, a szabály, az szabály. Inkább egyszerűen elmentem személyesen a Courier Post elosztóba, mintsem harcolni kezdtem volna a papír pótlásáért.

Kb. két hete sikeresen megvásároltam a repjegyemet haza, sőt, már approvolt szabadságom van augusztus végétől szeptember végéig! Ha valaki olcsó repjegyet keres, annak ajánlom a www.cheaptickets.com -ot és a www.jetabroad.com -ot. De egy jó tanács, ha megvetted, ne akarj változtatni, ne akard lemondani, mert megőszülsz és mellesleg inged gatyád rámegy. Hiába, ilyen ez a popszakma… Én mégsem tőlük vettem az enyémet, hanem egy nagyon aranyos, magyar, aucklandi jegybrókertől, Kingától. Utólag is köszönöm a kitartó támogatását! Azért nem mindegy, ha valami bibi lesz, tudok kit hívni, nem csak addig vagyok jó ügyfél, amíg nem pengettem a zsét.

Most elköszönök, hamarosan (ne legyél szkeptikus) jelentkezem, beszámolok a múlt hetemről, amikor Ausztráliában voltam, pontosabban Melbourneben, Victoriaban. „Aussie” tök jó hely, sok képet csináltam, nyugi, feltolok mindent, ízelítő gyanánt pár fotó.

My blog has been covered by web, since have not written roughly a month. Could easy to say that I did not want to picture my cue, but this would not be true or I have been living by carpe diem style and had no time to write, it would not be true, either. The truth is out there, you know…

While I am drawing this note it is raining heavily outside, typical winter weather in Wellington. Let’s see, make an attempt to think of the last time when it was raining. Ahh, yes, it was yesterday. So close to now, I bet Senilla could not forget it too. By the way, last Saturday it was raining as well.

Ok, no worries, best time to make a note...

Three or four weeks ago we had an awesome storm with 130km/h wind, horizontal rain and heavy snowfall on the South-Island. Hundreds of people claimed for damages, cliffs have fallen down, trees have been busted and turned out of the ground. (It is unbelievable, but there was no power loss.)

This storm upset my spare bike to the ascent. I have no clue why it not rolled down the sticky cliff, but luckily it stopped on the top. We tried to pull it back to the road with Peter by hand without success. I bought a tow-rope and in association with Peter’s car (Brünhilda), insist on the perfectly designed-fully prepared (with predefined motions) plan we managed to pull the bike back to the road. I was proactive and careful, did not give a change for plastic parts to damage because I had already removed them. This proactive behaviour prevented the further damage, there was nothing to break. In the meanwhile my bedroom has been reorganized, space was split into three parts: bedroom (primary feature), garage and store. My primary bike survived the windstorm without dents, it was standing in shadow in front of a house.

Whenever it was sunshine and had free time I spent it with repairing, but sometimes had to interrupt due to strong, unlimited whinnying. At home two garages, plenty of professional handy tools, everything you desire, here some wrenches (till size 14), two or three screwdrivers, “value” socket set till size 13 and with predefined “powercontrol” (simply breaks :), two hammers and two small pliers. What a difference.

Unfortunately that chassis, on the spare bike, which holds the upper cowl has dent too (this part was damaged by the crash of my “primary bike”, must replace) and we had to correct it. With what? Hungarians are rather inventive, we (Peter and me) “recycled” thick demesnes as well as the deformed original chassis part and used them like professional tools. My eyes got full with tears by the laughing, it was so miserable-unbelievable situation. Like a geg scene, just trip the stag, wind off its horn and using the horn you try to do a car body repairing stuff. And awesome, chassis got much better, no perfect, but around 85%.

To fix the broken left mirror was another challenge. There was a good base with broken mirror glass and a broken base with good mirror glass, just I had to merge the good base with the good mirror glass. Obvious purpose, but not a finger practise. To get the know-how I was surfing on the internet to chase any video or description about the best practises. I managed to find some videos provided by incredible talents from US with “how to replace mirror” title. Guy goes to his motorbike, spins off the mirror and replaces with another one, that’s all. And proudly uploads and presents, bastaaard!!

No worries, I used to be an enthusiasm fan of Wheelers’ dealers series on Discovery channel, I watched lots of practical solutions, workarounds in the episodes done by Edd, the car mechanic. With a knife, plus two small screwdrivers and 20 cm long yarn, not forget the sheep-patience I was taking out the mirror glass from the broken base and later put it into the good base. It took for one and a half hour, but full success, nevertheless it was said on forums it is impossible to do... I declare it is possible to replace mirror glass!

After the repairings I made use of Vanish stain remover, which declared as dangerous good and that is why I had to pick it up personally (Vanish is quite expensive in the shops, so I bought 3x1.75litre from an online store. Vanish is chemical product, dangerous good, to deliver it the courier company insisted on a special form, but it had been missed to send by the online store. Courier company rejected the delivery, the fastest solution was to pick it up personally.) Though I was very wise during the repairing my training suit got dirty, but Vanish made magic.

Two weeks ago I have successfully purchased my flight ticket to home, moreover my vacation between the end of August and end of September has been approved. If you are chasing flight ticket at bargain price I recommend www.cheaptickets.com and www.jetabroad.com . They offer rather good deals, but after payment you should not change, even more cancel the ticket unless you need grey hair or waste much „bags”. This is how online flight tickt business works. My first approach was these websites but changed my mind and purchased my ticket from a Hungarian ticket broker, Kinga, who lives in Auckland. She has the same cheap prices, very flexible, very helpful and speaks Hungarian. Big thank you, Kinga, I really appreciate your support! To buy from a „real” persons, I mean from a ticket brokers, gives less risk, for potential issues far more likely to get support from them.

Lelki tényezők, (ki)útkeresés / Soul arguments, egress from spiritual stand-off

Érdekes a világ…sokan elvágyódnak otthonról, szeretnének világot látni, én pedig éppen haza vágyódom a nagyvilágból. Ha minden igaz, akkor augusztusban három, talán négy hétre haza tudok/tudunk menni, már nagyon várom!

Nem szeretnék nagyon intim lenni, ezért a magánéletemet nem teregetem ki (túlságosan), annyit azonban elárulhatok, hogy annak idején két választásom volt a szakmai karrieremet illetően, Budapest vagy külföld.

Fényesebb karrier, a magyar szilíciumvölgy, több pénz, ez volt Budapest. Ismeretlen lehetőségek, nagy távolság, igazi nemzetközi környezet, ez volt külföld.

Budapestet sohasem szerettem. Én igazi vidéki srác vagyok, a családi házas, kutyás kivitel, akit nem dob fel, ha minden este más kávézóban nyomulhat a barátokkal. De nem is olyan, akinek micisapkája van, tehénszagú és gumicsizma az ünnepi lábbelije.

Budapesten egy kis bérelt kockában, hívhatjuk albérletnek is, éltem volna, és mint ottani életem alfája és omegája, onnan indultam és oda érkeztem volna a mindennapi robotból. Ezt messziről el akartam kerülni, ezért választottam külföldet.

Itt jön a csattanó, ezt az elkerülni akart állapotot érzem most, itt, Wellingtonban! Rossz érzés, no!

A lakótársaimmal beszélgettem az érzéseimről és arra jutottunk, hogy nekem kell megoldanom, nekem kell kirángatnom magam ebből a helyzetből. Ahogy korábban írtam, motorkerékpárt fogok venni, már mindent elintéztem (repjegyek, szállás, jegy az interislanderre, itiner, stb), és ha lesz kitartásom, akkor önkénteskedni fogok majd a wellingtoni állatmenhelyen.

A magányt sínylem meg legjobban, párral jóval könnyebb lenne, de ez nekem nem adatott meg. Ismerkedhetnék itt, csak mi értelme van, ha tudom, hogy pár év múlva szeretnék hazaköltözni? Talán Magyarországról kellene „importálnom” az én Dunduskámat? (Igazából szerelem ~ szeretem) Ez legalább annyira problémás, hiszen jelenleg itt élek! Vagy bonyolult az élet, vagy én teszem bonyolulttá, vagy mindkettő…

Miről meséljek? Például arról, hogy Új-Zélandon elsöprő többséggel törvénybe iktatták a melegházasságot. Amikor Szüleim kérdezték a legutóbbi skype alkalmával, hogy mi fontos történt, előjöttem ezzel a törvénnyel. Anyukám visszakérdezett, „de ugye ez minket nem érint, fiam”?! Nem, én még mindig a lányokat szeretem, Anyu!- nyugtattam meg -

Továbbá olvastam, hogy a londoni Magyar Konzulátus finoman értesíti az Egyesült Királyságba indulni szándékozókat, hogy brahiból már ne induljanak el, mert sokkal kevesebb munka várja őket kint és hamar elfogy a pénz. Előfordulhat, hogy úgy járnak, mint az a magyar srác, akinek elfogyott a pénze, kénytelen volt parkban aludni, ott pedig az angol(?) mókusok púposra sz*rták a hálózsákját. :D

Itt bőven van munkalehetőség, a „holiday visa” pedig kiváló alkalom, hogy kapj esélyt bizonyítani, ha sikerül maradandót alkotnod (pozitív értelemben), akkor nagy eséllyel tárt karokkal várnak vissza, de már munkavízummal! Az új-zélandi Tiszteletbeli Konzulasszonnyal beszélgettem, ő mondta, hogy nagyon engedékeny a magyaroknak adott „holiday visa”…

Vissza-visszaolvasom, amit írtam, javítom az elgépeléseket és feltűnt, hogy a hangulatomat kifejezően felkiáltójeleket használok. Tegnap előtt finoman szólt az argentin kollégám, hogy bánjak óvatosan a felkiáltójelekkel az angolban, mert „erőszakos”, nyomatékosító, utasító jelentése van, mások könnyen zokon vehetik. A „légy szíves csináld meg ezt a feladatot” után magyarban felkiáltójel van, mert felszólító mód. Az angolban viszont csak sima pont, ha nagyon erősen kérem, akkor lehet felkiáltójel. Igaz, az ausztrál kollégáim még a „nagyon hálás lennék, ha” (I would really appreciate…) mondatnál is csak pontot használnak.

Holnap ANZAC day lesz, a háborús hősök napja, itt szabadnap. Ezen a napon Ausztráliában és Új-Zélandon a háborús konfliktusokban elesett katonákra emlékeznek.

What a pity…while multiples wish to leave from home, wish to travel in the world, I would rather be at home, return from the world. If everything happens as planned I will be able to go home for three or four weeks in August. I am really looking forward it!

I try to avoid being too intimate, that is why I do not cascade my private life deeply, but I can tell, that time (in the past) I had two potential directions in my career: work in Budapest (capital city of Hungary) or work in abroad.

More successful career, work in the Hungarian „Silicon-valley”, more money, this was the offer by Budapest; unknown possibilities, long distance, real multicultural environment, this was the abroad offer.

I have never liked Budapest. I am a real country-man dreaming about family house and dogs, who does not keen on drinking coffee in different coffee shops in the evenings with friends. Moreover I am not that person who has „mici” cap, „cow-de-toilette” and wears wellingtons as shoes for special occasion, either.

A small cubic, called rental, in Budapest where I would have been living and as an alpha and omega of that life of mine, I would have gone for work from there and would have arrived at there back from work day by day. This was what I really wanted to avoid and the reason why I chose the work abroad.

Although I wanted it to avoid, this is what I feel of my life is here, in Wellington. Really bad feeling definitely…

I was talking with my flatmates about my senses and agreed with them in that, the person who had to solve this spiritual problem and pull me out of this situation was me. As I had already written I am about to buy a motorbike, I have already organized everything (flight tickets, accomodation, ferry ticket, road map, etc) and with strength of will I do voluntary in animal saving home in Wellington.

I suffer from the solitude mostly, with pair it would be much easier, but I did not get a chance to do it with pair. I could make approaches here and make relationships, but does it make sense if I know I would go back to Hungary in a few years? Probably I should „import” my Natalie from Hungary (Natalie from Love actually 2003 ~ I like that movie), should not I? This would be as problematical as the previous is because at the moment I live in NZ.

Life is complicated or I make life more complex or both of them…

What shall I tell anything more? For example, politicians voted to legalise same-sex marriage in NZ. When my parents asked me, in our last skype, about important things in the week I declared this law. My mother asked back: “by the way, this law definitely has no effect for us, my son, has it?” No, obviously has not, Mum! I have still preferred girls and only girls! – set her at ease...

I have read a news about a Hungarian Council in London, they politely recommend Hungarian citizens, who plan to live and work in the UK, not to start traveling without a strong persuasion, because there are much less job offers in the UK and money to survive the unemployment period, be consumed very fast. Potentially they could get into the same situation where that Hungarian boy was who had to spend the night in a public park due to lack of money and during the night squirrels (British squirrels?) „pooped heapedly” his sleeping-suit. :D

Here, in NZ, there are bunch of job offers and „holiday visa” is an excellent opportunity to get a chance to justify that you are the best applicant for that job. With making a deep positive impression on the employer (plus get + feedback), they are waiting for you back with opened arms but already with work visa. I was talking with the Consol-General of Hungary in New Zealand (Klara Szentirmay ~ she is very kind, helpful woman), she said „holiday visa” contract for the Hungarian citizens was rather loose...

While I am writing this note sometimes I re-read it, correct typos and during this I recognized I very often used exclamation marks to picture my cue and sensations. On the day before yesterday my Argentinian colleague advised me to be wise with exclamation marks in the English language, because in there it has special meaning like “force”, “push”, “order” and can hurt somebody easily. If I say “Please do this task” in Hungarian, it comes with exclamation mark automatically without any force. In English I should (highly recommended) use single “dot” ( “.”) with that sentence, exclamation is needed in only cases when I want to really force something. By the way, my Australian colleagues use simple dot only with “I would really appreciate” sentence as well.

Tomorrow is ANZAC day, the memorial day of the heroes and the soldiers in the wars. ANZAC is public holiday here. This day survivors commemorate soldiers died in conflicts of Australia and New Zealand.

I am about to say bye for now with an orphaned but lucky fox puppy, her mother was run over and puppy was crying in the pit where her mother left. Animal savers found her and now she is in good and careful hands. The Animal Care Park (Budakeszi Vadaspark) is looking for a name for her, they opened a tender till 20 May to find the best version. I have already had an idea. ;)

Motort keresek II. / Seeking a motorbike II.

Jelentem, nagy küzdelemben megnyertem a motorkerékpár aukciót, kaptam lehetőséget a Honda CBR750 megvételére. Az aukció végén erős küzdelem volt, ami értelmetlenséggel és erős erőltetett izzadságszaggal párosult, az ellenfelem 10 dolláronként srófolta a tétet. Ezzel nem lett volna gond, de minden az utolsó két percben érkező licit újabb két perccel kitolta az aukció végét. A jóember pedig valami oknál fogva mindig az előző két perc hosszabbítás utolsó harminc másodpercében tette meg a 10 dollárját. Szerintem egyszerűbb lett volna egyben rátenni azt az összeget, amit szán rá és éjfél után nem ilyen játékkal tölteni az alvásidőt…

Már a licitálás pillanatában tudtam, hogy ha nyerek, akkor a nyerés lesz a legegyszerűbb része a kalandnak. Az online aukciózásnál játszi könnyedséggel lehetünk tulajdonosai tőlünk pokol messze lévő tárgyaknak, de ezen tárgyak kézhez kapása a kisebb csomag mérettől felfelé exponenciálisan válik egyre nehezebbé. Egy motor pedig nem boríték méretű ugye.

Próbálom megvilágítani, hogy miért kalandnak hívom a szimplának tűnő személyes átvételt… :)

Először is 800km oda és 800km vissza a távolság. Másodszor, a visszaút 800km-ét egyedül, ezen a vadidegen motoron fogom megtenni, mindenféle előzetes műszaki átvizsgálás, illetve gépismeret nélkül.

Azt már csak halkan jegyzem meg, hogy noha van nemzetközi motoros jogosítványom, több mint 15 éves motoros tapasztalatom, de ezt európai utakon szereztem, jobbos közlekedésben. Balos közlekedésben még egy métert sem vezettem!

A déli szigeten életemben nem jártam, igazából az északi szigetből is csak Wellingtont és környékét „ismerem”.

Ja igen, fél évig nincs szabadságom, tehát az 1600km-es etapra egy hétvégém van, mert hétfőn indul a munka.

Nos, ezek után van, aki mégis szimpla személyes átvételnek hívná a vásárlást?? :)

De Baltazár inkább meghal, mintsem feladja…el is kezdtem szervezni az utat. Vettem bukósisakot (Caberg Konda felhajthatós), jó meleg motoros kesztyűt, beszéltem az eladóval. Jövő héten pedig lefordíttatom hiteles angolra a nemzetközi jogosítványomat, illetve a lefelé útra repülőjegyet intézem. Sohasem kényeztetett a sors, most sem, a hétvégés repjegyek Wellington Dunedin között 230 dollár környékén vannak, más időpontra van 55 dollárért… Yessssz…

Alternatív megoldást találtam, Wellingtonból Christchurchbe megyek Jetstarral 50 dollárért (nagytáska nélküli jegy, fapados), onnan pedig New Zealand Airlines-zal Dunedinbe, cirka 120 dollárért. Spórolok 60 dollárt, az is valami!!!!!

Előzetes tervem alapján, szombat reggel indul Wellingtonból a repülőgép, egy óra múlva Christchurchben leszállok, egy óra átszállás, majd indulok Christchurch-ből Dunedin-be, 11:30 körül leszállok, felvesz az eladó, elvisz a motorhoz, átadás/átvétel és 12:30 körül megkezdem hazautamat. Félúton (Christchurch) alszok majd valahol egyet, vasárnap pedig elérem Picton kikötőt a déli szigeten, felszállok az interislanderre, átkompolok az északi szigetre és lazán hazamotorozok Wellingtonba.

Segíteni fog egy GPS (bár nincs szivargyújtó a motoron), egy mobiltelefon, egy vízálló esőkabát, tartalék ruha. Viszem a fényképezőgépemet és egy vagon szerencsét is csomagolok!!!!! Minden másra pedig ott az EFTPOS bankkártyám!

I proudly present that after a hard fight I was the highest bidder of the motorbike auction and got a chance to purchase the Honda CBR750! There was a big scramble at the end of the auction with beyond reason bidding strategy and the whole stuff had strong smell of the lamp. The other bidder (my opponent) increased his bid limit by 10 NZD, this would have not been a problem but every new bid in the last two minutes extended the auction by another two minutes. He always insisted on waiting till the final thirty second of the two minutes expansion and made another 10 NZD bid. I really did not get him and his amazing strategy, it would have been much easier if he made a bid with his maximum budget in once and we did not spend the sack time with playing…

While I was bidding I already knew to win the auction would be the less complicated part of this adventure. By bidding on online auctions we can purchase such properties easily what are far far away from our home. The way to deliver these takings is getting exponential harder and more complexed by the growth in the size above a small package category. A 750 cc. motorbike is not an envelope size gadget actually.

I try to describe and make clear why I call „adventure” this simple „personal pick up” :

First of all, distance from Wellington to Dunedin is 800km and road back is another 800km from Dunedin to Wellington. Secondly I have to ride - during the whole 800km back trip – on a totally unknown bike without any previous personal experience with it or specified technical knowledge about it.

I just dare to whisper, though I have international motor driving licence and after 15 year motorbike rider experience gathered on the European right-hand roads, I even have not driven any meter in „keep-left traffic”!

I have never been to the South-Island before, actually I am not familiar with North-Island too except the city in Wellington.

What a pity, during the first half year at work I can not get any vacation, so I have to accomplish the full 1600km journey within a simple weekend, on Monday I have to start working again.

Well, after these points is there anybody who still thinks that this will be a simple personal pick up? :)

Baltazaar would rather dies than gives it up… so I started the organization. I had already bought a helmet (Caberg Konda flip-up), bought a warm, winter gloves with 3M waterproof layer, contacted with the seller of the bike. Next week I am about to make my international driving license be translated to a certified English and look for flight ticket to Dunedin. I have never been pet by the fate, so it is normal when I see weekend flight tickets for around 230NZD, and ones for 55NZD to other days… Yesss.

I chose an alternate solution, I will fly with Jetstar (grab a seat ticket, economy) from Wellington to Christchurch (50NZD) and from Christchurch to Dunedin with air New Zealand (120NZD). I save 60 NZD, it is more than nothing!!!

In my draft plan my airplane takes off on 27th Saturday morning from Wellington, lands one hour later in Christchurch, one hour for transfer and starts flying towards Dunedin, arrival is at 11:35 am. Seller picks me up at the airport, handover, and around 12:30 I start my way going home. On the half back trip, in Christchurch, I stop to have a break and sleep, on Sunday I reach Picton harbour on South-Island and get on the Interislander ferry. Ferry carries me to Wellington harbour and ride easily to home.

I will be supported by a GPS (with cigar lighter recharger cord, there is no on the bike :), a mobile, a waterproof jacket, spare clothes. I will bring my camera to take photos and a big pack fortune!!!! For all other demands I have an EFTPOS card! ;D

Igen, valami ilyesmit érzek, itt az ideje motort venni (pont őszre, ugye Robi??), mert kell valami, ami brümmög nekem! Autó nem az igazi, mert nem tudok vele a városban ingyen parkolni, meg az van Petájéknak. Nekem motor kell, szép, lehetőleg sérülésmentes, nem százezret futott, olcsó(!) és nem kokányolt, kiwi tanyatuningos! Ez kábé a lehetetlen kategória.

Otthon van autóm, motorom, azaz autóim és motorjaim, néhány, pár… :), itt semmi, ez szignifikáns különbség! Aki ismer, az tudja, hogy ez az életem, a hobbim, vezetni, szerelni, vezetni…haldoklom, egy szép nő csókoljon már meg, talán akkor túlélem!

Nézem a motorokat, de itt olyanok között választhatok, amit otthon bottal sem piszkálnék, kivéve a nagyon drágákat, amelyek relatíve szépek. Könnybe lábad a szemem, amikor eszembe jut, hogy otthon vár a csodás, tökéletes 600-as hangvillám! Apum talán nem motorozta ki a benzint belőle.

De talán lesz valami, kinéztem egy Honda CBR750-es japán belpiacost, eredeti fényezés, láttam már szebbet is, de egyben van. És van érvényes regisztrációja, licensze, WOF-ja. Ja igen, kb 800km-re innen, de az a legkisebb gond (hahaha). Aukciós, majd meglátjuk.

Itt Új-Zélandon szinte alig találni ép autót; horpadt, fényezéshibás, napszítta, lepukkant annál több van. A járművek 90%-ban japán modellek, az átlagéletkor 10 év fölött. Természetesen találni új(abb) autót és vannak luxuskocsik is, BMW X6, Audi Q7, Porsche. Érdekes, hogy ezeket főleg kis kínaik vezetik. Jól mennek a kifőzdék, no! :)

A kereskedések udvarán a napon rohad a Bentley coupe, a Maserati, a fullos Mercedes, pöpec Audi, nem számít! Az olcsó japán és a jóval drágább európai modelleken kívül még az USA-ból importált vasakat látni, illetve van sok oldtimer is. Erről majd később írok, lesznek fényképek, most vissza a kétkerekűekhez!

Auckland környéke és a déli sziget a motorozás fellegvárai, Wellington a futottak még kategória. Ezért wellingtoni lakos jó eséllyel nem tud helyben motort venni. A déli szigeten rengeteg regisztráció nélküli endurot (itt dirt-bikenak hívják őket) hirdetnek, emellett quadok és mindenféle –főleg japán- motortípus vásárolható. Cirkáló a hetvenes évek végéről, belpiacos „sohasem létezett” japán, rozsdaette 350-es Jawa, MV Augusta, méregdrága Vespa, minden van…

Az itt használt járművek általános állapota „érdekes”, használják őket, ha drága lenne a javítás, eladják, foglalkozzon vele, aki akar! Tipikus javítóeszköz a ducktape, a drót. A burkolat eltört a motoron? És? Nem javítják meg, mert működik így is… Ők rövid távban gondolkodnak, úgyis lecserélik. A javítások drágák, hamar 1000 dollár környékére ugrik a számla. Parkolási sérülésekkel nem törődnek, a megtett kilométer viszont fontos. 200.000 km egy lélektani határ, efölött nagyot esik a jármű ára.

Nincs kötelező felelősség biztosítás, de ha előrelátó vagy, kötsz magadnak. Ez különösen akkor jó, ha neked okoznak kárt, mert így nem bukod a javítás árát.

A jármű műszaki vizsgája (WOF = warrant of fitness) 6 éves korig 1 év, efölött 0.5 évre szól, ára kb 40-50 dollár.

Autópályadíj nincs, az útadót a benzin árába építik be, kivétel dízel autók és teherautók, ők pluszban fizetnek.

Elérkezett az óraállítás ideje, ezentúl fél évig 12 óra eltérés helyett 10 óra eltérés lesz Magyarország és Új-Zéland között. Otthon előre állították az órát, itt hátra állítjuk.

Mintha jobban megérteném az angolt, a beszéd még problémás, gyakran nem tudom elmondani, amit akarok, mert nem ismerem a szót, szavakat. Persze körül lehet írni, de nehézkes.

Szóltak, hogy állítólag a Nikon megvizsgálta (?) a porosság miatt visszavitt objektívet, de az nem hat a képminőségre, ezért nem kell vele foglalkozni. Micsoda minőségbiztosítás! Ezentúl nem ajánlom a Nikon termékeit, pláne, hogy megláttam az interneten a rengeteg Nikonos panaszost. Csalódott vagyok és haragszom!

Yes, definitely, I feel something like this inside, it is time to buy a motorbike (especially for autumn, right, Robi??) because I want something dinging to listen. Car is not an option, no free parking for cars in the city and my flatemates have already had one. I need motorbike exactly, a tidy, potentially free of damages, not over the 100.000km, cheap (!) one and not a „village folks customized”, suffer from tunings by the kiwis! This is almost an „never ever exists” category.

In Hungary I own car, motorbike, that is, cars and bikes, some, a lot…:), here in NZ I have nothing, this is marginal difference! Anyone who knows me know cars and bikes are my life, my hobby, driving, fixing/repairing, driving, near to die, a marvellous girl does kiss me immediately, then probably I can survive!

I am looking for bikes, but here I can choose from that collection what I would not stab with a stick in Hungary, except the rather expensive ones which are in a relative good condition. My eyes are being full with tears when I remember fancy, perfect 600cc Yamaha, „who” is waiting just for me! I hope it might have not run out of petrol by my father’s ride.

But now, there is a little chance to have a bike in NZ, a Honda CBR750, a special model for only Japanese. It has original painting and although I have seen nicer ones, this is even good enough. Ah, price includes valid registration, licence and WOF. Ah, I have nearly forgotten, its location is circa 800 km far from here, but this not a matter (hahaha). Bike is on trade me auction, well, I am looking forward it to end.

Here, in NZ, it is very hard to find intact, mint conditioned cars or bikes; but there are much more ones with smaller or bigger dents, with lack-paint damages, UV killed, badly serviced. Most (90%) of the models are Japan made, the average is over 10 yr. Of course you can find new(er) cars and there are luxury cars too, BMW X6, Audi Q7, Porsche (European icon brands). Interesting, big luxury cars are driven by Chinese mostly. Hejj, fish&chips shops and chop houses are running well! ;)

In the backyards of car-dealers a Bentley coupe, Maserati, top Mercedes, cool Audi are being destroyed by the heavy sunlight, no matter! Beside the cheap Japanese modells and the much more expensive European car brands, USA import vehicles are also represented and there are oldtimers,vintage ones as well.

This will a subject of a later note of mine, but now back to the bi-cycles!

Auckland with its district and the South Island are the centrals of motorbike riders’, Wellington is file-closer only. This is the reason why Wellingtonians might not be able to purchase bike in the local. On the South Island bunch of non-registered dirt-bikes are advertised, moreover ATVs and all sorts of others - especially japan made – are ready to buy. You can see roadking from the late 70’s; never seen, made just for Japan market, unique Japanese models; rusty Jawa 350 (Czech brand), MV Augusta (handmade Italian bike), chilly expensive Vespa scooter (traditional Italien) and so on…

If I want to discribe the overall condition of the NZ second-hand vehicles I must say „interesting” with that meaning what I would say for English gastronomy. Vehicles are used heavily here, if ongoing service would be expensive, they prefer to sell them, care them whoever wants! Ducktape and wire are tipical toolkits to fix any problem. Spoiler has been broken on the bike? Who cares? There is no need to fix it as bike is running fine with broken spoiler too… Zeelanders calculate with vehicles in short term, because replace them soon. Services are expensive, just replace some small parts and bill is almost 1000 NZD or so. Parking dents are no matters but the mileage is important attribute. 200.000km mileage is a strong treshold limit, average vehicles above it are roughly cheaper.

There is no compulsory assurance, if you want to sleep without worry, it is strongly recommended to pay insurance for yourself! Insurance can be useful in case of your damage covering caused by un-insuranced person.

WOF (warrant of fitness) is valid for a year for 6 yr old or younger vehicles, ones above 6 yr get WOF only for half a year. WOF fee is round 40-50 NZD.

There is no separated tax for high ways, petrol price includes it except small diesel cars or trucks, they have to pay extra fees.

It is time for DST (Daylight Saving Time), from now till half a year there will be only 10 hour difference between Hungary and NZ instead of 12 hour time. In Hungary (Europe) it is summer time (+1 hour), here it is winter time (-1 hour).

It seems I would be better at understanding English conversation but speaking is still problematic, insufficient vocabulary restricts me, I can not tell what I want due to unknown words. I can explain but it is backward.

I was informed, supposedly Nikon verified my 70-300 Nikon brand new lens with dusty complain and did nothing because it was no effect to the picture quality. Amazing quality assurance, 2013, Nikon, congratulations! I no longer recommend anyone to buy Nikon, especially after I had seen many many complains about Nikon quality. Nikon is a disgrace to Japan quality!

I am very disappointed and angry with Nikon and the unfair webshop company (Digital Parallel import)! I will never buy anything from them!

During the 4 days Easter vacation we walked to the oceanside with Klari and took some photos and I uploaded some previous photos too.

Hungary Working Holiday Scheme

On 22 April 2013, the Hungary Working Holiday Scheme will open at 10:00am (New Zealand time) for the first time. From then on, 100 places will be available annually under this scheme allowing young people from Hungary to stay in New Zealand for up to 12 months.

Online application service available

Applications can be made online for this scheme by following the link below. You will need a valid Visa or Mastercard credit card. This is the only way to pay for your online application.

However, before you apply, please read the following important information.

To be eligible

You must:

• have a passport from Hungary that is valid for at least three months after your planned departure from New Zealand
• be at least 18 and not more than 35 years old
• not bring children with you
• hold a return ticket or sufficient funds to purchase such a ticket*
• have a minimum of NZ$4,200 available funds to meet your living costs while you are here
• meet our health and character requirements
• hold medical and comprehensive hospitalisation insurance for the length of your stay
• be coming to New Zealand to holiday, with work or study being secondary intentions for your visit, and
• not have been approved a visa under a working holiday scheme before.

If you are already in New Zealand you also need to hold a valid temporary visa.

*You are required to hold sufficient funds for the duration of your visit and for the purchase of an outward ticket from New Zealand. Such evidence may be requested on arrival at the border.

Health requirements

You will need to meet our health requirements for temporary entry to New Zealand.

Note: Our Working Holiday Schemes Online system will tell you whether you need to send us a completed Medical and/or X-ray Certificate, and, if so, how to do it, when you submit your online application. Character requirements

You will need to meet our character requirements for temporary entry to New Zealand.

When you are here

• you must not take up permanent employment (unless you apply for and are granted an ordinary work visa while you are here)
• you must not work for the same employer for more than three months
• you can enrol in one or more courses of training or study of up to three months’ duration in total during your visit.

Please note: New Zealand law prohibits any person on a temporary visa including a working holiday scheme work visa, from providing commercial sexual services, or operating or investing in a business which provides such services.

Tax

Like all New Zealand workers, you will need an IRD number so that your employer can deduct tax from your earnings at the correct rate. In New Zealand, you pay tax on a pay as you earn (PAYE) basis.
