bejegyzés nagyon hasonlít a Star Wars sorozatra, mert a történetem egy korábbi részét
időben később írom le. Jajj, van ennél jobb példa, hiszen az új-zélandi vonatkozású Gyűrűk
Ura trilógia előzménye, a Hobbit ugyanilyen módon készült!
De most vissza
a múltba!
2012.
november végén megkerestek Új-Zélandról egy olyan álláslehetőséggel, amely
felkeltette érdeklődésemet. A cég ugyanaz a cég, ahol egy korábbi közvetlen
kollégám dolgozik és a kintieknek megtetszett a munkája minősége. Kérték, hogy
ha van, akkor ajánljon hasonló képességű embert, akit csapatbővítés esetén megkereshetnek,
interjúztathatnak. Ez lettem én.

Egy kinti menedzser
és nemsokára rá egy HR-es írt levelet, benne az ajánlott álláslehetőség leírásával.
Érdeklődésemet egy válaszlevélben jeleztem.
Innen
felgyorsultak az események, interjú időpontot egyeztettünk, első körben a HR-es
beszélgetett velem skypeon (külön kértem a skypeot, mert a mobillal ellentétben
mindkét füllel hallhatom őt) egy órát, és mivel tetszettem, a szakmai interjút
is leszervezte.
A szakmai
interjú szintén skypeon történt, öt-hat ember volt a vonal túlsó felén és
kérdezett mindenféle szakmai kérdést.
Majdnem
elfelejtettem, az interjúk időpontja este 21:00 óra volt, mert plusz tizenkét
óra eltérés van Új-Zéland javára. (A szakmai első időpontját először áttetettem,
mert dolgom volt, minden neheztelés nélkül alkalmazkodtak!)
A szakmain
bátran, akár több megoldást vázolva válaszoltam, sőt, vettem a merszet és
kijavítottam a kinti kollégát. Hamar eltelt a másfél óra, éreztem, hogy
tetszettem. Egy nap gondolkodási időt kértek, egy óra múlva írták, hogy
megfeleltem. Ha hamar jön válasz, akkor szinte tuti, hogy elnyerted a tetszésüket!
Talán két nap
múlva megérkezett a konkrét ajánlat, átgondoltam, elfogadtam.
Ez volt a
könnyebbik rész, innen indult a küzdelem a vízumért...
Hamarosan folytatom...a harc a vízumért résszel.

Actually, there is a better example than
Star Wars, it is the prelude of the „The Lord of the rings” trilogy – shooted in NZ - ,
„The Hobbit”.
But let us go back
to the past!
At the end of
November 2012 I was pinged (contacted) from NZ with a kind of job offer
which made me interested in it. It was from the same company where one of my
ex-colleague has been working at and the NZ employer really appreciated my ex-coll
work style.
He was asked
to refer a guy with similar properties – if there was any known by him – who in
case of vacancy could be contacted with and interviewed. This was me.
Anyone - who is interested in job
opportunities in Australia or in its area - but nobody nominates him/her, just
upload his/her CV to www.seek.co.nz., following the australian cv
template as option. But anyway australian CV template is just an option, not
mandatory!
First a
manager from the company and soon a lady from the HR wrote me a mail with the
offered work description. In a reply I sent my positive response.
From this
point events sped up, we scheduled an interview. In the first round the lady
from HR was talking to me for one hour via skype. I especially asked and preferred
skype – because of two ears listening – cell phone could have not provide this
option. I was good enough and met her requirements so she organized the
technical interview as well.
Technical interview
was running on skype too, five or six men were on line and quized me with
technical questions.
I have nearly
forgotten interviews were at 09:00 pm, there is twelve hour plus in NZ.
The original
time for the technical interview was rescheduled as I was busy but this did not
cause any issue or inconvenience, the "outsiders" fully tolerated it.
During the
technical interview I answered self-confidently, provided more solutions, and
what is more I corrected a NZ guy. The one hour and a half interview ended
fast, I felt that I was liked. (not on Facebook! :)
They
requested one day as response time but I got positive answer in one hour later.
If you get
fast response it is very likely you meet their reqiurements!
Perhaps two
days later I got a mail with the exact job offer, I thought it through and approved
it.
This was the
end of the easier period and this became the start of the fight for the work
visa...
