29-én írtam utoljára. Mi történt azóta? Eltelt egy hét a munkahelyemen, kiderült, hogy kihívásokkal teli lesz a szakmai életem, az otthonról hozott angolom csak a külön külön beszélgetésekre elég, rossz dolog hámlani és még mindig tudunk együtt élni a lakótársakkal.

A szakmai dolgokkal nem untatok senkit, lényeg az, hogy bennem van a zabszem, miként fogom megállni a helyemet. De természetesen mindent beleadok!

A csoportban hat kiwi, két fülöp-szigeteki, egy argentin, egy holland, egy román, egy magyar (én) vagyunk, ha jól számoltam. Nagyon toleránsok, ha nem találom a megfelelő angol szót, akkor segítenek, barátságosak és nem köszönnek kézfogással.

A hazaiakkal skypeon tartjuk a kapcsolatot, szerencsére semmi baj nincs otthon. Tizennyolcezer kilométer távolság erősen korlátozó tényező. Otthon tél van, hóval, itt nyár, lazán öltöző lányokkal. Lehet legeltetni a szemeket!

Igazi magyarként már találtam oltári hibákat Új-Zélandon.

Például a bevásárlókocsiknál csak az első pár kerék foroghat körbe, a hátsók fixek. Kis kanyarnál emeled a kocsit... Nincs európai szabványú elektromos hosszabbító, több európai eszköz esetén inged gatyád rámegy a konverterekre, darabja 25 dollár.

 A magyarországi ruhák anyaga gyakran sokkal jobb, itt rengeteg műszálas dolog van. Teljesen műszálas zokni nyáron felér egy biológiai fegyverrel.

A motorok, kerékpárok nagyon drágák, tescos szintű bringa hetvenezer forint használtan.

Tegnap nagyzoltam, egyedül jöttem haza a busszal. Meglett az eredménye, kb fél óra gyaloglás után telefonáltam, a lakótárs jött értem. Pedig teljes bizalmam volt abban, hogy tudom hol vagyok.

Ma péntek van, ilyenkor ingyen ebédet ad a cég, a mindennap ingyen biztosított gyümölcs mellé. Sőt, péntekenként nem kötelező a szigorú dresszkód és délután négytől dzsembori van a munkahelyen, ingyensörrel, zenével, beszélgetéssel. Ez aztán csapatépítés!

Az egész napot egy pokoli fontos esemény uralja, a Hertz Sevens 2013, két napig tartó rögbi fesztivál. Lányok, fiúk jelmezekben mászkálnak az utcákon, döntik magukba az alkoholt. 29th Jan was the last day when I visited my blog. What happened since then? A week at my new work is over, I recognized my career is going to be full with challenges, my English knowledge collected in Hungary is just enough for communications with separated persons only, it is not good to chit-chat, living with flatmates is still working fine.

I do not want to bore you with stories about IT stuff (this is my profession) but the main thing is that there is a pain in my ass (I am frustrated :) how to stand my ground in my work. But of course I do all my best!

In my team there are six Kiwis, two guys from Philippines, one from Argentina, one from Holland, a guy from Romania and me from Hungary, if I do not miss anybody.

They are really tolerant, they help when I am in trouble with finding the suitable English word and do not shake hands as a greeting.

We use skype to keep in touch with relatives and friends in Hungary, luckily there is no worry at home at now. Eighteen thousand kilometer distance between us is a big restriction to act. While in Hungary it is winter with snow now, here it is summer with girls wearing „nothing” clothes. Good occasion to feast men’ eyes on!

As typical hungarian I recognized reindeer problems in NZ.

Let’s see for example only the front wheels of the supermarket trolleys are able to turn, the rear ones are fixed. What a pity, what a shame! In small turn you have to lift the rear of the trolley...

There is no electric power board with european standard, if you would like to use bunch of electric devices from the old continent at the same time, you must pay heafty sums to buy converters, 25 NZD each piece.

 Hungarian clothes’ materials are often much better than the ones in NZ, here you can find several cheap nylon items in the stores, supermarkets. Full synthetic socks are potential biohazard in the summer.

Motorbikes, mountainbikes are rather expensive, second-hand bikes with tesco quality cost seventy thousand hungarian forints.

Yesterday with big face I decided to go home by bus alone. As result after a half an hour walk I made a call to my flatmate and he guided me, though I was full trusted in I knew where I was.

Today is Friday, on Fridays the company serves free lunch as well as free daily fruit benefit. Moreover every Friday employees get exemption from the strict dresscode and from 4:00 pm it is party time at the workplace with free beer, music, conversations. What a kind of teambuilding!

The whole Friday is controlled by a major event called Hertz Seven 2013, the two days rugby festival. Girls, boys in fancy-dress are walking around the streets, drinking heavily. The two-days rugby madness is a special event in NZ’s life.
