Wellingtoni hírek: földrengés, a világ leggyorsabb utasszállító hajója itt / Wellington news: strong earthquake and the fastest passenger ship in the world refuels in the harbour

Wellington újból jelentkezik! Azaz Robi, Wellingtonból. :)

A nappaliban már gyülekezik a nép, Petáj mára játéknapot hirdetett, előreláthatólag 10-15 ember várható. Petáj nagyon szereti a társas játékokat, ahogy ő mondja, a második generációsokat, amelyek papír alapúak, de nincs pl dobókocka bennük. A „Gazdálkodj okosan”, „Virágkarnevál”, stb (ismerősek, ugye?:) az első generációhoz tartoznak. A stratégia, a logika (és némi szerencse) nagyon fontos a végső győzelemhez, egy-egy játék kör 15-25 perc időtöltést jelent. És felnőttek játszanak!!

Én nem vagyok nagy társasjátékos, de a hét nekem is tartogatott „kellemes” dolgokat. A posta meghozta a szerszámkészleteimet, egy minőségi racsnis kulcs készletet (10-32, toldókkal, T-szárral, hajtószárral), egy metrikus és colos kulcsokat is tartalmazó imbusz kulcs készletet (0.7-10, 0.028-3-8”), metrikus és colos villáskulcs készletet (6-22). Plusz grátisz, kaptam egy csőrös fogót.

A munkahelyemen vettem át a pakkokat, a kollégák látták a boldog arcomat, ahogy kibontottam és kézbe vettem a szerszámokat. Ki is találtak egy új szót: „tool-gasm”, a kézi szerszám (tool) és az orgazmus (orgasm) egyvelegét. Igen, imádom a minőségi szerszámkészleteket!!!! Nem csak nézni, hanem használni is!

A héten már motorral jártam dolgozni, a múlt szombaton teljesen összeraktam. Az eleje még nem tökéletes a „Robi-skála” szerint (tehát foglalkozni kell vele), de minden további nélkül használható.

A földrengésből én speciel nem éreztem semmit, mert éppen motoroztam, de a kollégák a munkahelyen nagyon is észlelték. „A földrengések kipattanásának alapvető oka kőzettömbök felszín alatti elmozdulása, ami a lemeztektonika keretében magyarázható. Új-Zéland olyan ritka ország, ami két nagy kőzetlemez határán fekszik. A hajó sokkal érdekesebb dolog volt számomra. Pénteken Thiys és Jonathan társaságában elmentem megnézni, csináltam képeket is. Pár adat a hajóról: az Incat ausztrál hajóépítő cég építette, 450 tonnás, 99 méter hosszú Francisco-ra keresztelt kompot, ami 58 csomós (107.8km/h) sebességet tud, Buenos Aires, Argentina és Montevideo, Uruguay között közlekedik. Wellington in Air again, I mean Robert welcomes from Wellington. :)

Peter cascaded/declared a board game party day for today in our house and the guests started gathering in the living-room, approximately 10-15 players are expected. Petáj is keen of board games, as he says of the “second generation”, the paper based, dice-less ones. “Manage your property properly” or “Flower carnival”, etc are known board games in Hungary, well, they are from the first generation. Good strategy, sharp logic (and a piece of luck) are needed for the final victory, one game takes for 15-25 minutes or so. Players are mainly adults from Peter’s friendship.

Actually I am not a hard board player, so this party day is not the zenit of my week, but there were couple of things what made me happy in the recent. My previously ordered handy tools have been delivered, a good quality 27 piece socket set with rachet (size 10-32, T-axle), a metric and imperial hex key set (0.7-10mm, 0.028-3-8”), 24 piece metric and imperial wrench set (size 6-22). As gratis I got a plier.

Work office was the delivery address, colleagues watched my face while I was admiring my new handy-tools and held them in hand for the first time. They designed a new word to describe the potential feeling I felt: “tool-gasm”, tool and orgasm mix. Yes, yes, yes, I am a fan of handy-tools (with good quality), these products are my desires. Not for eyes only but also to work with them!

This week I was able to go to work by my motor bike as last Saturday I made it back to “road-ready”. The front is not perfect, it has not met the “Robi-quality meter” standard, needs some more correction and fine tune, but definitely the bike is ready to use.

By the way, I was riding on my motorbike during the earthquake, so did not realize anything, my colleagues, who were in the office that time described it to me, later. One of the typical reasons of the earthquake is the tectonical crashes. “New Zealanders live on the edge. Depending on their location, it might be the edge of the Australian Plate or it might be the edge of the Pacific Plate. The active Pacific-Australian Plate boundary passes through New Zealand producing earthquakes, volcanoes, steep terrain and active deformation. In places the active boundary between the interacting plates is quite narrow, for example the Alpine Fault and Southern Alps in the central South Island. Friday morning (09:06 NZT) earthquake had 5.7 magnitude. There is a website which continuosly reports NZ earthquakes - vulcano activities -etc and provides up-to-date information: http://www.geonet.org.nz/quakes/felt .

The recorder ship was more exciting for me. During Friday lunchtime, Thiys, Jonathan and me went to watch the “Concorde of the Sea” in the harbour. I took photos as well. Some important details about the ship: constructed by an Australian ship builder company called Incat, ship is 450 tonnes, 99 meter long, by its four engines (two Boeing 747 jet engines and two water engines) can reach 67MPH speed (107.8km/h).
